Brett Fukuda has joined our Kaulele Work-Study Program to pursue his passion for the aviation industry. He recently completed the aircraft parts knowledge base and is now on a journey to earn his airfield lighting certification. Airfield lighting systems include runway edge lights, threshold lights, taxiway edge lights and wind cones to help pilots navigate the airfield with precision, ensuring they stay within designated paths and avoid potential hazards or obstacles. The State of Hawaii has a total of 15 major and regional DoT airports, in addition to four DoD airfields, with one of the most challenging flight environments in the country.
